This 1968 Ford Mustang 390 GT S-code is finished in its original colour pale green named “Sauterne Gold”. Total production for 1968 was 317,404 units. Only 1400 390 ‘S’ code GT Notchbacks were produced. Our Mustang here is one of those 1968 cars and is a LHD, Metuchen built, ‘S’ code, 390, 2-door hardtop. This dramatic new notchback model, created a storm when it hit the streets and it still does to this day. The 1968 was little changed from the 1967 however there were subtle refinements to the interior and exterior. Options for the ’68 model was an AM/FM stereo radio, rear window demister & re-designed front disc brakes. For 1968, simplification of the quarter panel ornament and many safety features were added. Due to increasing government regulations, the 1968 now included front & rear side marker lights.
