This Unique Westfield Seight represents the flagship of Westfield Sports Car Company’s Lotus Seven-inspired line-up. Imported into South Africa as a kit in 2004 by LOCOST SA—a specialist in Lotus 7-style road and race cars—it was professionally assembled to an exceptional standard.
Distinct from its Lotus 7 roots, the Westfield Seight is slightly longer and wider, providing better comfort and road presence. The standout feature is its heart: a 3.5L Rover V8 alloy engine, fitted with an electric water pump, Holley 4-barrel carburettor, Offenhauser dual port manifold, and a fast road camshaft. With a higher-than-standard compression ratio, it offers exhilarating performance in a lightweight chassis.
Mechanically, this example is extremely well-specified, including:
• Sierra Cosworth alloy differential housing
• Quaife torque-biasing limited-slip differential
• AP front brake calipers
• Nitron coilover suspension
• Independent rear suspension
The interior features VDO instruments, Cobra race-style bucket seats, a heater, weather equipment, soft top, and side screen doors, making it practical for spirited weekend driving or club-level events. Rolling on 17-inch wheels, it also benefits from a ceramic-coated tubular exhaust system that exits discreetly at the rear.
Having covered very limited mileage since completion, this Westfield is virtually unused and remains in excellent condition throughout. Reportedly, only one other V8 Westfield exists in South Africa, with its whereabouts currently unknown—making this example likely one-of-one in the country today.
A thrilling, rare, and beautifully engineered machine for the true enthusiast.
