1965 Volkswagen Splitty Kombi

These Split Window Kombis mark the beginning of the People Carrier era we now know from Volkswagen. They came in various models like the Pick-up and Panel Van for the working force, and the Family Bus that took families to various places. Now, in 2024, Volkswagen is even looking into electrifying the modern Kombi.

This particular example has been restored to perhaps better than when it came from the factory. The two-tone paint job is classic for these Kombis, and this one has had some additional aesthetic changes, including the Safari front window and a large vinyl sunroof.

The interior has also seen some upgrades, including the addition of a rock-and-roll bed, making it perfect for camping on road trips.

Propelling the Kombi is an upgraded engine, moving from the original 1100cc to a 1600cc Twinport from Volkswagen.

Overall, this is a great classic that can be enjoyed and serve as an investment in both money and fun.
