Description
This 1969 Valiant Barracuda Custom is finished in Santarini blue with original black vinyl upholstery. A “MOPAR” Chrysler 318 cubic inch small block V8 has been fitted to this custom built Valiant barracuda. “MOPAR” is the parts, service and customer care organisation within the Chrysler Automobile Company. The name “MOPAR” derives from a combination of letters from the words “MOtor” and “PARts”. For the South African market, a 140 kW high-performance slant-6 engine called “Charger Power” was available. This had a 9.3:1 compression, two-barrel carbs, more aggressive camshaft, and low-restriction exhaust system. A handful (between 10 and 13 exact unknown) of Savage GT’s were built from the second-generation Barracuda. This Valiant has been fitted with after-market NASCAR styled wheels giving it an aggressive, sporty stance.
