Pininfarina designed, under the guidance of Frank Stephenson, revised body styling improved the aerodynamics. The new 4.3 litre V8 was a significant change for Ferrari as previous engines were all derived from the 1950’s. The engines output is 360 kW at 8500 rpm and 465 Nm of torque at 5250 rpm, 80% available below 3500rpm.
The F430 is available in a 6-speed manual and this variant has a 6-speed “F1” electrohydraulic manual gearbox. This F430 Spider is the convertible version based on the F430 Coupé & is Ferrari’s 21st road going convertible. Conversion from a closed to an open top is a two-stage folding-action, the roof folds away above the engine bay.
