Back in the 50s Cadillac was the American answer to Rolls Royce, and their drivers were known to say, “Nothing drives like my Cadillac”. And this saying rings true with our Cadi, but we will come back to that later.

Now for what was around in car design in the 50s. Most notably the fenders became more integrated in the body and had sleeker lines. Cadillac also introduced the X-Frame Chassis that was stronger and more rigid, but also allowed the vehicle to be lower without sacrificing the large cabin of the Fleetwood.

This Fleetwood came with a 365Ci V8 or in Metric terms 5.9L engine which easily produced 300hp and in true Cadi style the power is put down smoothly with the Hydromantic gearbox and the soft ride of a Cadillac. We can say that the power steering has been upgraded and this makes it super easy to handle. She has a fuel cell in the boot and comes with other quirks that aren’t usual for a Cadi. But all-round she is a great vehicle that needs a little TLC on the Body.
