One of the Big 5 German Car brands Mercedes Benz has established itself as a Luxury and Reliable car brand from its inception by Carl Benz. As most manufacturers need to find an edge and rebuild after World War II, Mercedes Benz worked on establishing the Porton with its Mono-cock design where the styling trend that unified the previously articulated hood, body, fenders and running boards into a singular form, creating the way forward for the Saloon cars that came after the Ponton.
This range was built from 1953 to 1963 where after the large Fin-tails W110 took its place.

Let’s talk about our old girl, she is mostly original with beautiful lines and curves, looking great in her blue paintwork that has been recently completed. Yes, this old Merc has had a light restoration but still needs some finishing, on the outside you will notice that the chrome work will need to be attended to, but things like the badges are all in place.
Upon entering the cabin of this family sedan, you will notice that not much as been done here and all the patina is original, from the leather bench seats to the simple but functional dashboard. But as an owner of one of these classics, it is about the whole experience of driving, and the little heart of this Ponton is a four-cylinder engine that still has plenty of torque and life as pulls well into a happy cruising speed. The four-speed column shift takes a little while to get used to using but that isn’t an art for a classic car lover.
The Road holding is surprisingly good and luxurious for a car of her age, the brakes are good, but she is a Mercedes Benz and that is what you would expect from this Lady.

All-round one could say she is a car that needs a little love as a working project, but more importantly, she has a value that is on an upward trend and a good base for someone that is looking to restore a car and grow an investment.
