Retromods are all the rage in the American Car seen and this also counts for trucks, be it a 1957 Chevy Pickup or even later models like our Chevy C10, values are on the raise year on year. Like with the Ford F100 the Chev C10 was the work horse of the brand with the C10 name from 1960 with the first gen to fourth gen that was been built in 2002.
So, you know that our C10 is of the first gen let’s look at the blue road runner. She is no ordinary C10, and one can see that from the stance at a distance. To aid the lowered look she is standing on a set of 20-inch wheels with a low-profile tyres. Then one must ask how they did this, well by fitting a chassis from a Ford courier pick-up, which intern updated the ride from a hard leaf spring setup to a more modern and softer ride and modern disk brakes on each corner. Also, to fit the large 315/20s in the back of the step-side that cut the bin in classy way and built wheel aches on the inside. Now that we have the basics, we need to drive this Chevy forward, here was the old faithful 350ci engine from the Chevrolet stable was use, and the matched to a TH350 Gearbox.
So how does is drive, well from the driver’s seat its easy, select D on the column shift and stoke the gas pedal and just hear the growl is the V8 under the Hood, as you are comfortable propelled to cruising speeds with the traffic. Aiding your coolness is a retro fitted AC unit which wasn’t an option in 1961. Other cool features are the modern dakota gauges feeding you all sorts of information and as a bonus she has been fitted with power windows just completing the modern feel of this Chevy C10.
But honestly this truck is something one must experience for oneself, so if you want something cool and retro that can keep up with the modern pace of life this truck should be on your radar
Interesting trade-ins will be considered.
