Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche, son of Ferdinand Porsche, founder of the German Company, was the creator of the 356 Porsche. The 356 was designed by in-house Porsche designer, Erwin Komenda. Widely viewed as the first production sports car that was made by Porsche, the Porsche 356B offered more powerful and flexible engine options which exploited the cars excellent chassis and handling dynamics. They have a reputation for race inspired engineering and accessible performance which has ensured that many have lived active but cherished lives.
This is a rare Lindsay Motors built 356B has a very special South African heritage. Lindsay Motors in South Africa was the only company licensed to build and assemble Porsche’s outside of Germany. This car has been totally stripped and refurbished by a renowned and reputable Porsche specialist. This refurbishment started some 8 years ago, where the entire car was stripped and taken back to its ivory body colour and red interior. The engine, gearbox, clutch and under carriage have all been completely rebuilt and refurbished. The car has been lovingly taken care of by a meticulous owner, resulting in one of the best representations of this vehicle in its time. The car comes with its original birth certificate and comprehensive service records.
