1965 Ford Mustang 289 Notchback

Designed by Executive and Ford stylists John Najjar and Philip T. Clark, the Ford Mustang has seen production from 1964 until this day and is the longest standing name within the Ford Brand. The name “Mustang” was derived from the famed American P-51 Mustang fighter plan from WW2 which is certainly noted with its long hood moving towards the cockpit and shortening off to a beautiful rear. Stylish in its simplicity and aggressive with its throaty V8, The Mustang is a staggering success with early models revered and sought after to this day.

The first-generation Mustang was produced from 1964 to 1971 and came in the coupe, fastback and convertible guises. The Mustang coupe was Initially launched with the 260cu 200 hp V8 but in a short time was upgraded to the preferred 289cu (4.7L) 225 hp small block V8, with an option of manual or automatic.

The absolutely magnificent example we have on offer here is finished in the Poppy red over Black vinyl. It presents spectacularly. It has the rare desirable 4 speed manual gearbox. and is a vehicle that must be seen to appreciate its authenticity. Imported New in 1965, This Mustang is a 3-owner car with first ownership lasting 36 years and has been meticulously maintained throughout its life. The car even comes with original books and original sales invoice from 1965. There is no doubt that this is the cleanest Mustang to to cross our paths. It is now ready to be started, throttle blipped and driven off our showroom floor to start its new chapter. This is a car for the true connoisseur who expects nothing but the best. This is a “Must see” car so do not miss out.
