Designed by Executive and Ford stylists John Najjar and Philip T. Clark, the Ford Mustang has seen production from 1964 until this day and is the longest standing name within the Ford Brand. The name “Mustang” was derived from the famed American P-51 Mustang fighter plan from WW2 which is certainly noted with its long hood moving towards the cockpit and shortening off to a beautiful rear. The first-generation Mustang was produced from 1964 to 1971 and came in the coupe, fastback and convertible guises. The Mustang coupe was Initially launched with the 260cu 200 hp V8 but in a short time was upgraded to the preferred 289cu (4.7L) 225 hp small block V8, with an option of manual or automatic.
