There is an old saying “Black is Beautiful” and this certainly rings true for this amazingly built Ford F100 with is dropped look in Black with its 20-inch Old Skool looking wheels.
Ford first introduced the F100 Series in 1948 as their light-duty truck, but the series did grow to include the F150, F250, F450 and even an F650. Today the F-Series are still extremely popular in the USA and round the world where they are available on dealerships floors.
Our F100 is part of the Fifth Gen vehicles that were built from 1966- 1972. Most notable for this Gen was the Increased size of the Cab, disk brakes on the front and double walled construction of the load bed.
All these mentioned items helped our F100 to be an impressive truck, so let’s tell you about it.
Starting with the black paintwork that gives the truck a real presence and the lowered Crown Vic front suspension and the rear end from a Mustang including the 9-inch diff. This stance is completed with a two tone, five spoke 20-inch wheels wrapped in low profile tyres.
As car guys we are really interested in the drive of the truck and the cab been our happy place, which it is wrapped in brown leather with a touch of Alcantara in the sun visors and roof lining.
Before you make the mistake of jumping in to drive this beauty, remember that it’s a LEFT-HAND DRIVE truck. Now that we behind the wheel, tap the accelerator 3 times to prime the 351cu engine with it’s Edelbrock intake and carb, turn the key as she comes to life with a roar and settles to a burble on idle and the view of Dakota Blue Digital instruments cluster feeds you with all the important information – Revs, Speed, and Temperatures etc.
Now let’s Drive, Selecting D on the Colum shifter is the first contact point to changing the fuel into power and sweet music from the collected 8 into 1 exhaust system with is tail pipe showing face just in front on the right rear wheel. Put your foot on the gas and she propels you forward quite rapidly until you settle to a cruising speed and then the overdrive kicks in and she purrs along at 2000 rpm happy all day. Naturally, we want to go places in this truck but sometimes we need to stop, and this is provided by power assisted disk brakes all round. And lastly in the beauty, you have very able load bed that you could load up but with the stunning wooden bed, would you??

To summarize the Beautiful Black Truck would look good anywhere but that isn’t its soul purpose,
Its to make you feel good about driving and not letting life pass you in the fast line!!!
