Introduced late in 1967, the second generation of the Volkswagen Kombi (T2) was built in West Germany until 1979, losing the popular split window design of the previous model.

Commonly known as the ‘Bread loaf’ and ‘Bay-window’, the VW Kombi was slightly larger and heavier than the T1, with an enlarged engine being a 1.6L 4-cylinder motor pushing out a minuscule 47 bhp. The battery and electrical system was upgraded to 12 volts, making it incompatible with electric accessories from the previous generation. The updated T2 eliminated the swing axle rear suspension and transfer boxes previously used to raise ride height. Instead, half-shaft axles were fitted.

The example we have on offer is finished in a classic colour combination, being blue and white with a grey interior. It has 7676km indicated on the clock and still presents beautifully in the condition it’s in. The VW Kombi will always remain an icon for a spacious, comfortable family van and are becoming increasingly desirable as time goes on.
