Well, there are Mini’s and then is another whole world of Resto Mod Mini’s, which both have their place in the Market but today we are in the world of Resto Mod cars again. And this Mini is just that. Starting its life in a set of 10-inch shoes and probably 998cc Heart for an engine and really just the basic car that it was meant to be, but these days that is long gone and it has grown up a little bit and now is a resto mod Mini that we will look into shortly.
This Mark III Mini is a classic in its right and they had several noticeable changes that we would call facelifts today. The mentionable ones are the larger door with the full window and the concealed door hinges. Suspension wise they reverted from the Hydrolastic system to Rubber comes as a cost saving on the cars. One thing about a Mini is whichever MARK you have they are loved Cars.
Now back to the Little Blue Giant killer. Today as back then this Mini drives like a little 2 door 4-seater Go-Kart but with a little more go. So, the heart of this MK III is a worked 1250cc bored out to 1308cc and naturally when you do this, we can say the internals have been worked too. Bigger CC’s means that she needs more fuel and that is provided but a Weber Side Draft Carb. To help it breathe we have a branch fitted to get those burnt fuel gas away from the motor. For Shoes now she has grown up a little and is fitted with 13inch Mags with Yokohama Rubber. For some extra safety there is a set of Disk Brakes upfront to bring her to a holt.
Then we have the interior of this little boy racer, and this is where things are noticeable different from the original car. Decked out with two bucket seats dripping in a light chocolate leather gives you two things, an expensive look and real comfortable holding seat keeping you in place as you play hard in the twisties. Then to add to the sportiness is a little digital speedo with rev-counter built in.
To finish this little car, she has been painted in an awesome blue that catches the eye and adds character to the car.
So, do you want a fun toy and want to get into Classic Cars then we have the right toy for you to start.
Interesting trade-in’s will be considered.
