The Mercedes-Benz W126 is the company’s internal designation for its second generation S-Class, manufactured in both sedan and saloon variants from 1979–1991.
Mercedes introduced the 2-door C126 coupé model, marketed as the SEC, in September 1981. This generation was the first S-Class to have separate chassis codes for standard and long wheelbase versions, being W126 and V126 and C126 for the coupé. It was the first time in Mercedes’ history where they’ve introduced a coupé version that was derived from the S-Class chassis. With a maximum top speed of 210 km/h and a curb weight of 1585 kgs, the 380 SEC is no slouch when it comes to performance. It has a naturally-aspirated V8 engine pushing out a moddest 201 bhp at 5250 rpm and 315Nm of torque at 3250 rpm.
This highly original example we have and has been in the care of it’s current owner for some 29 years. It comes with a superbly documented service and maintenance history. The car is finished in the desirable silver over blue leather interior and will be a welcome addition to any collector or first time Mercedes owner.
Interesting trade-in’s will be considered.
