1991 Birkin Super Seven

R130,000

The Legendary name of the Birkin Sportscars came from Sir Henry Tim Birken that was a great racing driver and helped develop one of the finest British Racecars and one of them is the Supercharged 4.5 litre Blower Bentley. Also taking this car to a win in 1928 at Le Mans 24 Hour.
But back to the Brand Birken Sportscars, it was founded in a Pinetown Natal in 1982 by John Watson. John wanted to develop and manufacture performance cars and components which swiftly became the Birken Sportscars based on the late Colin Champman the headed-up Lotus and the Super Seven.

There is a lot more to Birkin Sportscars and the history behind it but let us have a deeper look into our car. This peppy little white Birkin has a lot of life in her. She is quick off the line and tons of fun.
The power is delivered by a good old Ford Kent Cross Flow 1600 engine matched to a 4-speed gearbox to the diff that in turn makes this little giant killer run. On the four corners are a set of MINILIGHTS wheels and Dunlop Rubber giving you the traction and handling required to drive this speedster. Braking is managed with a set of Disk on the front and drums on the back.
Now that we have covered the basics let’s get into the drive. The cockpit is small with two bucket seats, the shifter is under the dash, and one has to say narrow shoes are required to drive this pocket rocket. Looking down the bonnet you just see the cycle fenders flaring up over the front wheels and the little chrome headlights reflecting the world back at you. Turn the key and the little 1600cc engine springs into life with its Twin Weber Carbs and free flow exhaust that runs down the passenger side of the car that rumbles as you turn fuel into power and noise, but that is part of the excitement.
The ride is a little hard but that is to be expected from a good handling sportscar. Now that we are moving there isn’t much that can bet having the wind blowing in your face and the ground rushing by just 3 inches from under you.

So, in summary this Little Beast is a great toy for the road whether it’s on the twisties of a mountain pass or the beach fronts of the coast or just a track play date, you are sure to have smile on your face as you are just having a blast of time. If you are looking for a little car with lots of character, we would recommend trying this Birkin Seven.

Interesting trade-in’s will be considered.
