Some trucks are workhorses, and some trucks are just sports cars in red dresses that sometimes could carry a load and this S10 is the latter. Yes, this Sports Truck. We will get into the details of that shortly
Back in the 80s The Japs had started to capture the small pickup market and GM wanted some of this market, first by buying into ISUZU with a 40% ownership in the company and then by launching their own LUV trucks (Light Utility Vehicles) in the form of the GMC S-15 and the Chevy S-10. These trucks were not a replacement for the older and much loved C10 Pick-up.
Over the years the S10 has had several different engines and Chevrolet were hesitant to drop the LS1 V8 into their trucks as they didn’t want a truck that would compete against the Corvette itself.
Well, that brings us to this Corvette Powered S10 Pick-Up, more than happy to tell you it’s an awesome piece of kit that one must experience for oneself. So, let’s start with the look of this LUV truck, dressed in red its looks part of a fast vehicle standing on those 20-inch tyres, as well as you need all the rubber you can get to put down the power from the LS1 Engine.
Jumping into the Cab you are wrapping in a bucket like seat with its sport headrest and you know this is a serious driver’s vehicle. The other touches of Wood Veneer and leather just gives this truck a little touch of Class. Now that you are seated and turned the key and the LS1 V8 idling at purr it’s time to drive, shifting into gear on the Column, you have 2 chooses Drive or Overdrive but it actually doesn’t really matter as even in Overdrive this LUV truck as change into a beast or be as docile as a kitten, depending on you, but we know that V8 will start talking to you at 3000 Rpm and scream all the way past 6000rpm propelling you beyond the legal speed limit.
Interesting trade-ins will be considered.
