After a continuous run of 67 years, production finally ended on 29 January 2016, after a total of just over two million Land Rover Series and Defender models had been built, proving its cult status. The vehicle, being a British alternative to the Second World War derived Willy’s Jeep, gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility.

The example we have on offer is a Defender 90 that features the beefy BMW 2.8L straight-6 engine in it, giving an exceptional drive. This one also has an extensive list of modifications done to it such as receiving some new lifted suspension, a fully custom paint job, custom panoramic tinted windows, special bull bar, upgraded LED lights, extra light bars as well as all-terrain tires which sit on some specially imported rims. It has also been fitted with a winch, incase you get yourself in a tricky situation taking the paths less taken.

As this was one of the very few limited models that were made in South Africa during BMW’s brief ownership of Land Rover, it resulted in these being one of the more desirable Defenders out there.
