Local Chevrolet fans will recall the Lumina SS and SS Ute – two V8-powered vehicles from Australia that also made their way into South Africa. Those who preferred big capacity engines often looked at the Lumina twins first before considering anything else.

The Chevrolet Lumina SS is fitted with a beefy 6.0-litre engine, producing 270kW and 530Nm of torque, with all of the power being sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. As there is not much weight over the rear axle, the Lumina SS is an extremely tail-happy car which demands the driver’s full attention.

The example we have on offer is presented very well and very original, especially the paint. It is finished in the eye-catching Orange over black leather. Most Lumina SS’s are fitted with the automatic gearbox but here we have the desirable & more involved manual gearbox. It is a fairly low mileage car, having only covered 105400km with a very good service history.
