The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116. It has remained in use ever since and has proved time and again to be at the forefront in the “luxury and class” segment.

The W221 was introduced in 2005 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show with the flagship being the S600L. This became the standard to which all luxury manufacturers had to rise up to.
