There are Chevy Lumina’s and then there are RGM Motorsport turned Tyre slaying monsters that look like sleepers and that is what we have here on hand. But we will come back to that shortly.

The Lumina is now in its fourth generation and besides being an Aussie Muscle Car, it was a little bit of a luxury car too. The four gen was introduced 2006 in Australia as a Holden Commodore or in the UK that were known as Vauxhall VXR8. Originally, they put out about 260kw of tyre shredding power.
Here in South Africa, we know them as Lumina as a sedan and a pick-up. The Sedans made an enormous impact in the Drift scene here, taking people for rides at show days.

Now let’s get into our example. This car was spruced and tuned by one of the Greats in the South African turning market. They have held numerous records over the years, namely RG Motorsports and one of the friendliest guys you will meet, Rob Green. But you really don’t want to know that, want makes us petrol heads tick is what is under the skin of these powerful beasts, and without any further chatter let’s look at the 6ltr L98 V8. She is blown by a Vortech V2 T-Trim Supercharger by RGM, and honestly this is one most liner power we have felt from a supercharger. Naturally with this you need to add fuel, this is supplied by Walbro 650l/hr pump, and no supercharged car would be complete without a Charge Cooler and custom exhaust. Assisting putting down the power is an ACT upgraded clutch and nice set of American Racing Wheels.
Bringing this animal to a holt is a set of Gold RGM 6 Pot Calipers and a turned Tein Suspension.
All of these upgrades add up to a beast that puts out about 481kw which is just under double of the power of a standard vehicle and a bunch of horses pushing you hard back into the seat.
