The 250 Testarossa was one of the most iconic cars of the 1950s and 1960s, and it has become a classic among Tifosi enthusiasts. The 250 Testarossa was a race car that competed in the World Sports Car Championship and the Italian National Sports Car Championship.

The Testarossa is still highly sought after by classic car enthusiasts and collectors, and many tribute cars have been built in its honour. These tribute cars are custom-built replicas of the original Testarossa, often using a variety of different engines and other components to recreate the look and feel of this classic vehicle. They are often built to exact specifications, and feature many of the same design elements, such as the iconic side strakes, which allows enthusiasts to own their very own Testarossa without having to pay the staggering prices for an original. Tribute cars are becoming increasingly popular as they offer Classic Styling with a modern drive. Some even attend classic car shows and events to show off their tribute cars.

The example we have on offer was built over an 11-year period by its owner using moulds from a scaled model car, then creating wooden body bucks to form the overall shape of the car. It has been built on an original Hayden 427 chassis with a Jaguar differential and rear suspension and the front suspension being from BMW. It has also been fitted with a 4.0L Lexus V8, which is the same one used in the Backdraft Cobras, mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission from Lexus too. The body of the car was hand built and is a one-off epoxy composite construction, similar to methods used for aircraft building. It has also been fitted with an original 250 Testarossa steering wheel which certainly adds to the experience. This car is a “must see” and offers plenty of enjoyment without having to break the bank.
